Floor Pillows
For months I have been wanting to make Emmalyn floor pillows, but just kept putting it off because of the move and I couldn’t decide what fabric to use. Well now that we are moved and Emmalyn has a new room, I decided it was time! I’ve looked at several patterns online, but I am not good at following patterns step by step…. I always seem to start off with a pattern and then I like making it my own! I have quite a bit of fabric that has never been used so as I dug into my pile, I found the perfect fabric! I don’t know why I didn’t think about mixing these two patterns before! So far, I have made 4 pillows. I plan on making 2 more this weekend to give her reading nook a little extra comfort.
To start off with I cut 4 large squares and 8 rectangles. Depending on the size of the pillows will depend on what size you will need to cut your fabric. You will need to sew the rectangles to one of the squares with the right sides facing. Next, sew the other square to the rectangles with the right sides facing. After doing this you will have and inside out square. You will then need to sew 3 of the edges closed. Be sure to leave the 4th side open so you can turn your fabric inside out to make the right side of fabric on the outside. Then, you will stuff the fabric with whatever filling you want to use. I decided to use beanbag filling for my pillows. Finally, sew the last side shut and there you have it!
